2005.05.13--- Antarctic Developments, the third party Computer Programming company slowly making a name for itself, announced its latest product today. ‘UnStable’, as the software was called, was introduced by a representative. “It is a software CPU,” announced the representative, “which means that where you normally have a physical CPU located in some place connected to your computer, this software CPU's location is on your Hard Drive just like any other program. However, it does NOT run like a normal CPU adding to your max processor load, instead the CPU runs the other half of the program: a Particle OS. The Particle Operating System is run at startup and scans the entire contents of your computer's data; Hard Drives, CD Drives, Flash Drives, etcetera, and locates all OS's available to run. “It will then allow the user to select which OS to load, at which point it will go into ‘stand-by mode’ and allow the chosen OS to run like normal. The advantage being that you can have an Apple OS, a Windows OS, and even a Linix Os and be able to choose the OS you wish to run.”<br> The representative also mentioned that UnStable would allow the use of a medley of the OS’s on the system so that, ironically, you could have a more stable Operating System. No information was released on the availability of the software.

By Joshua OlveraOk, where to start. Well, Nintendo's E3 2005 booth was quite extravagent today. Antartic Developments Founder Erik Baker and employee Joshua Olvera had the priveledge to see their press only press conference. There Nintendo unvieled their REVOLUTION. Although the system has taken a turn from its rather "light" colored predescors, it will come in a variety of colors upon release. Thankfully they will offer a free online service which will allow you to buy and download their entire database of NES, SNES, N64, and Gamecube games. Surprisignly they also unvieled the third handheld console (dubbed the Gameboy Micro) in the Gameboy Advance family. Unfortunately, Iwata was not available for interview nor did he comment on the Revolution's to be revealed controllers. Well other than a plethora of new games that were unvieled, Erik and I took a trip to see these new systems as well as playing all the latest games. Well enjoy the pics!

2005.06.25--- In a press conference today, a representative of the small software company known as Antarctic Developments (AD), told reporters that they were planning on taking gaming to “world-shattering new elevations.” Due to their software developing past, the AD representative was asked if they were referring to making games for the next generation consoles, the Xbox-360, the PS3, and the Nintendo Revolution. The representative responded saying that “To associate with Microsoft’s futile console attempts, we must either have our arms twisted behind us or be desperate for business.” The latter excuse being dismissed with a wry smile by the representative on reasons that “We have plenty of ideas that will work wonders for business; all we have to do is pull them out of our bag of tricks.” They also responded to working with Sony with much less negative terms, sounding almost like an indirect ‘polite decline’. A reporter from Gamespot asked if they were implying that they would defend Nintendo’s hopeless console scene. “We were looking into what we could do with Nintendo’s current systems,” said the spokesperson, “and we also took a look at the minimum-moderate speculations for its upcoming ones. However, and though no discredit to Nintendo hard efforts that will undoubtedly pull the company through, we found even the higher speculations to be largely inadequate. Thus we are working on a console-like system to be able to control and contain the required specs for our expected titles.” “Nothing is for certain as of right now,” he continued, “in fact we’re not even sure if it’s actually going to be a hardware or software kind of device, though we seam to be leaning more towards the hardware side. However, we are going to attempt to allow much ‘open-endedness’ to our games. The technology we have will be more than capable of running any software designed.” Questions concerning the last statement and AD’s newest software and OS, Unstable, were raised by most. In reply the spokesperson had this to say, “Unstable is not an OS, but a ‘freeloader-emulator’ that runs any program, one at a time, on completely stable environment variables; be the program a high powered game or a windows emulation. But yes, Unstable will most likely be involved with the new system. You see,” he said addressing the reporters, “Unstable let’s software deal with hardware in seemingly impossible ways; a program that requires Windows XP and at least 512MB of RAM to run can be run with Unstable alone and a mere 32MB of RAM, delivering performance equal to the former specs plus an extra 512MB of RAM.” Many of more tech savvy reporters were astonished by that example. “To further the point,” he went on to further amaze his audience, “Unstable can make a 256MHz CPU run like a 2.12GHz CPU.” As a side note he added that he could only wonder what a 3.2GHz CPU would run like under Unstable. “As you can see,” said he returning to the point, “If we choose to use unstable, and most likely we will, we can make a console for about $75 this quarter that runs as well as or, presumably, better than the next-gen consoles set to come out next year.” Information on what possible games would be like and even possible game titles were endeavored to be obtained, but the delegate said that even the president of the company was uncertain in those areas. “They’re gonna be good, long, highly-interactive games, that’s for sure, though.” He presented a title named ‘Regression of Arms’ as a possible early release, though he would not say what genre the game would be a member of. The conference disbanded not long afterwards.

News from the future: E3 2014
Well it appears that the E3 has once again drawn large crowds due to the celebration of the convention's 10th birthday. Also drawing the crowds and their expectations is Antarctic Developments first RPG/MMORPG PC game. Recent rumors have suggested that it will feature innovative features that have not been seen before. One of which is the choice to play either single player or to join the online world.
